What should you consider when choosing a straightener ?

Plates that match your hair type

The right size of a straightener plate is the main criteria to ensure perfect results and an ease of use. We recommend you the following:
  • For short and mid-length hair, choose a 2 - 2.5cm plate.
  • For mid-long, wavy, curly and thick hair, select a larger plate from 3.5cm.
  • For long and very long hair, choose a plate starting at 10cm in size.

Attachments to create the style you want

Enhance results with the right attachment. For lively straightening with natural volume, use the built-in volumizing brush.
For sleek, salon-approved straightening, choose a straightener with built-in comb.

Right coating for your plates

Our straighteners are designed with ceramic plates for homogeneous heat repartition and glide. Some come with additional materials: tourmaline for added shine and softness, Keratin infusion to protect hair and bring a silky touch, Argan oil and Quartz to boost glow.

Right temperature settings according to your hair type

Find the right temperature to get perfect results while preserving your hair fiber. Our straighteners have adjustable temperature settings:
  • For straight, thin to normal hair or on sensitized hair select a temperature below 180°. Rowenta even recommends to use an optimal care temperature of 170° to keep hair healthy and fully protected.
  • For wavy, frizzy or thick hair select a temperature between 180° and 210°.

Additional technologies that make the difference

Got thin or dull hair? Use ionic technology delivering negative ions to reduce static and leave hair smooth, sleek with radiant glow.

In a hurry? The wet & dry function allows you to straighten hair even if it's wet.

Straighteners to create different styles

Straight looks

  • For a natural finish, select a temperature of up to 180°C, or use a straightener with a built-in volumizing brush.
  • For professional straightening from root to tip, choose a temperature above 180°C.
  • And go further with some of our straighteners equipped with a built-in comb for a salon finish result.

Wavy looks

Did you know your straightener can be used as a styling tool? For gorgeous waves, select a temperature of up to 180°C, place a strand in the straightener, rotate half a turn away from the face and glide quickly. For natural or beach waves, use a brush or wide-toothed comb to soften the strands.

Curly looks

Use rounded straighteners to shape your curls better. Select a temperature above 180°C, place the strand in the straightener, rotate half a turn away from face - and glide slowly. Enjoy glamorous curls in no time!
